Will my boyfriend get sent to prison?

My boyfriend ended up getting into a fight on a night out. The other man went to hit him so he protected himself and hit him first. He has been charged with G.B.H, he was released on bail but he breached that by going into a pub where the other man was and automatically got sent to prison on remand. He spent nearly 3 weeks in there then finally got released on bail to a bail hostel away from our town. His crown court date is coming up in a few days and he is pleading self defence. He has been beaten up twice by a group of the other man's friends but the charges have been dropped against them for lack of evidence and also was beaten up when staying in the bail hostel and was put into hospital all 3 times. I havent a clue what might happen to him....can anyone help??
