Car Leasing Brokers
1 Answers
How do car leasing brokers work ? I went to a BMW garage enquiring about a 320 M Sport Coupe. Over 3 years, based on £3,000 deposit Sytners wanted £629 a month on a Personal Contract Purchase plan and more for a Personal Contact Hire. Looking on the net, a number of independent brokers wanted as little as £429 based on just a £1287 deposit ( 3x35 payment profile ).
I know most brokers finance the cars through Lombard Vehicle Management or Leaseplan etc, but I cant understand how anyone makes any money. The dealer selling the cars surely cant make much,
the broker cant make much and the finance company - like Lombard, are presumably just gambling on the residual value of the car at the end of the contract....
And who buys sources the cars and the deals, the finance company or the broker ?
More confusing, you go to Lombard Vehicle Management direct and they can be more expensive than the brokers they are either supplying the cars or the finance to... it all seems very strange.
