Vodafone return policy and Trading Standards Act 1979
4 Answers
Less than a week ago I purchased a mobile handset from Vodafone, I was not able to test the handset in store and after less than a day of use I found the product was not at all what I was looking for. After 6 days I attempted to make an exchange in the Vodaphone store and was refused on the basis of a company 'no - returns' policy (only an exact replacement if an item is faulty).
I now feel cheated and stuck with an awful phone, what are my rights with regard to getting a refund or exchange? Does the trading standards act extend to non-faulty products? Do Vodafone still operate a 14 day returns policy?

If you had bought the phone on line or via telesales from Vodafone then you could have returned it.
However for sales from their stores this is their policy:-
Vodafone retail store
Once you leave a Vodafone retail store, purchases cannot be returned unless you have no network coverage. If that is the case, you can return the phone or device to the store within the first 7 days and cancel your contract.

Unfortunately I don't think there are notable faults, the phone simply runs a shoddy OS which lags and does not offer the straight forward use of my previous nokia, unfortunately this only became evdident after purchase. I did feel that in store they rushed the sale to get me out with any phone, and I was not made aware of the no returns policy.
