my ex-boyfriend bought me a ring, but it didn\'t work out, so i agreed that i would pay for the ring even though the account isn\'t under my name. its been 2 years already and i can\'t afford it anymore so i stopped now he is harrasing me to continue making payments as we agreed or else he will get his lawyers. am i legally responsilbe to make the payments even though the credit card is under my name? i don\'t even get the statements, he recently changed the address to his so now he receives them but he still wants me to pay for it. can a lawyer do anything to me?

yeah, it seems more peaceful overthere and it seems that things get done for you citezens. i thought it was unusual that lawyers would actually take time out to answer questions. lol that doesn't happen in the US.
There are a few good posters here.

GOODNIGHT UK!!
As has been stated this site is based in the UK and most of the postings are from UK or elsewhere in Europe. There are several regular US posters who may be able to help if they see your question.
as an avid watcher of Judge judy (ahem :o\")) I will tell you what she would say. Is it an engagment ring? If it is she would say that an engagment ring should be given back if you don\'t get married. If he doesn\'t want the ring then he can sell it to get some money towards paying it off. If you want to keep the ring (why would you if its an engament ring?) then give him the money for it - you can\'t have it both ways. If it\'s not an engament ring then it\'s a gift and you shouldn\'t be paying for it.

However I think if you said you would pay for it unfair to just change your mind and decide you\'re not going to any more.
