am i responsible??
my ex-boyfriend bought me a ring, but it didn\'t work out, so i agreed that i would pay for the ring even though the account isn\'t under my name. its been 2 years already and i can\'t afford it anymore so i stopped now he is harrasing me to continue making payments as we agreed or else he will get his lawyers. am i legally responsilbe to make the payments even though the credit card is under my name? i don\'t even get the statements, he recently changed the address to his so now he receives them but he still wants me to pay for it. can a lawyer do anything to me?

If it is she would say that an engagment ring should be given back if you don\'t get married. If he doesn\'t want the ring then he can sell it to get some money towards paying it off. If you want to keep the ring (why would you if its an engament ring?) then give him the money for it - you can\'t have it both ways. If it\'s not an engament ring then it\'s a gift and you shouldn\'t be paying for it.
However I think if you said you would pay for it unfair to just change your mind and decide you\'re not going to any more.
