Refund for a child missing a school day trip?
What is the situation regarding refunds for a child missing a school day trip?
Surely in legal terms the school should be obliged to give a refund and should not be discretionary or by each LEA?

So why do you think the school should refund you? Look at it this way - if YOU has booked people onto a trip and one member called to say they could not go because they were ill, would YOU refund their monies even after you had paid for the coach, tickets etc etc? No, you would not because that would mean YOU would have to pay from your own pocket what they wanted refunded bgecause the coahc company would still need ot be paid so on and so forth
Don't be silly and don't embarrass yourself by asking for a refund. Why are people so keen to look for 'legal' loopholes
