I bought a mobile phone in December. It was working fine but has suddenly stopped taking pictures. Just says image not captured. I rang customer services ad they said it must be a fault in the pohne and to take it back to the shop. I bought it in Tescos but unfortunately did not retain the receipt. What are my rights now if I retun it to Tesco. I had a look today and they don't have the same phone so I wouldn't relly want a credit note. Would they have to get me a similar replacement or else refund me? Or can they do nothing if I don't have the receipt.

Sorry, I meant mobile phone in the title!
Ah - was going to suggest it was going through a bad spell
Have you checked to see if there is any memory in phone the picture will go to phone memory 1st before memory card

sorry if im a little vague on this as need to know what kind of phone you have

They might replace it but not sure unless it is a tesco phone,
Without a receipt you may find they do absolutely nothing. They wouldn't even accept me returning a packet of cheese scones without a receipt. You could clearly see that they had gone mouldy.

Thanks everyone for your answers. Took the bull by the horns this morning and returned phone to Tescos. They said they couldn't do anything since it was over 28 days since it was purchased but gave me their customer services number to ring. When I rang they took my details, said they would send me out a bag in which to return phone and they would either repair or replace so a happy ending, hopefully!
