This aspect has changed. The standard disclosure no longer checks if a person is barred from working with children or vulnerable adults.
This is ony checked on an enhanced disclosure and therefore anyone working with or having close contact with these groups of people will be subjected to an enhanced check.
What was the fixed penlaty notice for, if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to be specific. The reason why I'm asking is that is it was for a mninor traffic violation then you will have nothing to worry about.
The types of penalty notices that may be disclosed on an enhanced check are penalty notices for disorder (PND). There are two tiers of offence, lower tier and higher tier with fines of £50 and £80 respectively, given when an officer has reason to believe that someone has committed an offence.
It remains the same that a PND will not necessarily show. The the chief officer thinks that the PND is relevent to the check, then the PND will show. It is impossible to give you a definitive answer. Any information disclosed is subjected to the relevence test, which dictates that non-conviction information like PNDs must have definitive relevence, ie, not just to be thought of as 'might be relevent.
Either way, it is imporant to recognise that PNDs are not convictions. When you pay the fine there is no admission of guilt. (There is no official finding of guilt and therefore, you are innocent until proven guilty, you have no criminal record).
Even if the PND is disclosed, it does not mean you don't get the job, you will have to explain it. But if the PND was for something like canabis posession, then this is likely to severly affect your ability to work with children.
