Sneaky speed traps...
15 Answers
... reckon I've just been caught by one of those road safety speed trap vans that park on the side of the road - usually just after a corner & usually half-hidden by a tree. I was doing 69 in a 60. Didn't see a flash, but the back window was open with something ominous stuck out.
Damn darn & blast - what'll that be - £60 fine?
Why do they have to be so furtive about it, that's what really gets my goat.
Am not happy at all.

69mph in a 60mph zone is breaking the law.
Furtive......if you suspected Plaid of sha@gging some other woman, would you warn him that you would be checking up on him?..........NO.
I would love to have been in Traffic Police and would have loved to have been a traffic warden........also a policeman in South Africa during Apartheid, whacking those protesters with those long whips.

You virtuous lot - none of you ever speeded then? My @rse.
The moral of the story is, I suppose, keep your eye on your speedometer & when there are speed signs, keep to within the limit. But Iwas the only one on the road, apart from the bloke on the bike I was overtaking, and it was long and straight with excellent visibility (apart from the van....)
Ok, I'm a criminal, but I'm still pee'd off.
Chuck - what's an ANPR van?

My car's legal - MOT, insurance, tax & all that jazz. Not sure whether I'm legal, but if it's only the car they're checking, I should be ok..... Do ANPR vans not do speed checks then?
Ok you lot - chastisement over, please. Especially Walter - smug virtuous little git - I'm not admitting to drinking & driving for funky's sake, or weaving in & out of traffic dangerously, or driving stupidly in adverse weather conditions - I was just going a tad faster than I should because I was late for work & was singing along to The Verve. It's a bittersweet symphony alright...
