I think it is just calculated on the incomes and the amount of time the child spends with each parent. I don't think you can specify what the payments will be for.

i just mean would it be ok if i were recieving it and asked the father to pay for half the cost of any monthly activities? this is not for me i personally would not ask for that

I use to receive my maintenance and then we went 50/50 on things like school trips...uniforms etc.

Maintenance is for day to day life.....
