Car Leasing Options
3 Answers
I am currently driving a company car - VW Golf 1.9TDi - but am looking at opting out and taking the cash alternative. By taking the allowance I would have in the region of £275 per month to spend on a car. It must be capable of at least 35mpg preferably diesel with an annual mileage of approx 20k. Any suggestions of suitable vehicles?

the situation now -
- Company car (Golf 1.9TDi, an overall good car)
- Company paying for the petrol, road tax, Insurance
- Not costing you anything .....?
If you was to choose cash option
-Paying for own insurance
-Paying for a car
-Paying for road tax
-Paying for petrol
-90% Chance that you won't be in anything similar to a 1.9TDi

Northernmonkey, apart from paying income tax on the benefit of the car you're right, I don't have to pay anything else. It is possible that the company will go green and use the bluemotion version on the next contract which will be due soon and that will cost less in income tax. Hmmmm metinks I better wait and see what the next offering is and do the sums then. Many thanks for your thoughts.
