I live on the end terrace and own my property. My neighbours whom I have had antisocial problems with privately rent their house. For safety reasons I chained and locked the gate between our properties at the back garden. Her son is just out of jail and her partner is an alcoholic/drug addict and they now use my garden furniture to climb over the fence. Do I have a legal right to deny them access. Their wheelie bins are at the front of the property so they have no reason to trespass on my property.

that depends on what their access rights are. My in laws used to live in a property where the neighbours had a right of way...you need to find this out from your deeds or the landlord
They are not trespassing on your property as they surely have a right of access to the rear of that property. I live in a block of 4 terraces in one of the middle ones. My right of access is to walk around the back of my neighbours property to get to my own

I wouldn't agree with chaining the gate as this restricts their access. Imagine there was a fire and they couldn't get out. I I reckon you'd have a lawsuit on your hands

I appreciate the problems you are having but I think you need to speak to the people they rent it from.
