If someone is arrested and is given a caution, is this reported anywhere such as the local press, or is it in the public domain anywhere?

according to this,the police may be required to give the info if the victim wants to pursue civil proceedings.

this might also be useful...seems to indicate that a caution is confidential unless the person is in certain employments

sorry, the other link didn't post and now i can't find it. It was a lawyers forum where someone had said that a client had lost their job because his firm had found out that he had been cautioned and that the police were not supposed to tell people...however if you google police caution, loads of celeb names come up as having had their caution reported in the papers so i guess there is no rule against it.
