Please i want anyone who knows the law to give me sum advice.
Recently i was in a pub with two other girl friends and my husband when a man came up to me obviously aggressive and started i stood up and told him to go away and then sat down, my husband then stood up and asked him to leave me alone the man then give him sum abuse.
Through the course of the next half hour which i must add is all on cctv the man tried starting on my husband outside in the smoking area and when i walked out to intervene the man touched my backside and said he was gonna Foof me (excuse the language)
My husband walked back in the pub and the man was arguing with another woman my husband told hiom to leave it out with that this woman kept pushing my husbands arms as the man was getting closer so my husband put his glass into his back pocket so his arms where free in case this man started this is also on cctv at this point my husband said to us threee that we should leave which we did, my husband put his glass down and as he went to leave the man shouted more stuff went to follow my husband out again and at the door shouted more verbal to me who by this time was near the door.
As we all left the property i had had enough and was fuming he could bully and ruin our whole night so i walked back in and pushed him and told him to leave us alone (i know this was stupid) unknown to me my husband and and friend were closely behind me, at this point the man hit me with one hand and the other he tried to glass me with as i fell my husband at this point saw, picked up a glass and hit him with it.
We have only just seen the cctv but have been charged with gbh with intent is this mitigation gonna help or am i in serious trouble as i have no criminal convictions and i am worried what will happen with my children.
The man who was against us has a large amount of criminal convictions for violence

how do you know the other man has previous convictions?
The law could class this as mitigation, but not much. Whatever the intimidation to glass a man in the face in this manner is a criminal act and your husband wilol have the book thrown at him. I;m sorry to say but he is looking at prison.

i know he has criminal convictions because they were said by the prosecution at a hearing in front of a district judge, also have found out through people that know this man. The man is seen clearly trying to glass me in the head although misses as my husband steps in
It's quite a lot to take in.
Is there any significance to the bit about your husband putting the glass in his pocket then putting it down?
well you already put it but yes you were stupid going back in and pushing him. Did you think because you pushed him and you were a girl he wouldnt do anything? Has the other man been charged with anything? If not it wont matter what convictions he has had in the past.
what on earth made the bloke think he could make such advances towards you when you were on a night out with your husband?
Question Author
the solicitor said he would get charged as well because i had one bruise on my back that lasted over a week and had to go casualty, yes i was stupid i know but i just couldnt take anymore, and i pushed him because thats all i could do he was twice the size and it was pure frustration with what he had done.
The glass going in my husbands pocket is significant because the police said it was intent because it was a glass but then he is seen clearly realising it is there and going back around to the other side and putting it down
This man is seen very aggresive on cctv trying to provocate everyone i know i know it dont make it right but my husband acted on instinct when he saw the man try to glass me and it happened so quick
but you'd walked out, if you'd have kept walking you wouldnt have had to take anymore. But whats done is done and as long as you tell them that you shouldnt have done it in court they may understand. I can only say if its all on CCTV, the truth is there and you will just have to see what conclusion they come to.

i don;t get that bit about the cctv, it's not pass the parcel,
previous convictions only come up for sentencing purposes once a person has pleaded or been found guilty.
The data protection act would prevent you from viewing the cctv?
