the people who used to live in my house are still getting there bills sent here and are also applying for credit at my address. Is there anything i can do to stop this as i have sent letters back to companies saying not at this address and have been doing this since november 2009 when i moved here.
I have also kept a list of addresses on the backs of the letters and have recenlty opened 2 letter that show they have applied for a credit card and also set up an account with a catalogue.
how do i stop this

you can speak to your local PO and ask them not to deliver anything for those names...they may charge for this though.

just write on them 'return to ssender' and put back in the box
I'm not sure you can do much more than return them to the sender, make sure your name is on the electoral roll at your address. It's not your problem - they aren't your debts and shouldn't affect your credit file, although it's a nuisance I know if you get debt collectors/bailiffs calling round.
Maybe let the police know too as it is fraud

im on electrol register so they know they dnt live here i have tried to look mon facebook for them and think i know some1 who knows the daughter but tbh its a pain in bum cause they applied for a credit card and they dnt live here. i called orange who they have been having there bills sent here from and they dnt care which is a pain is elbow as i was turned dwn 4 a phone with them due to 3 contracts already being run from this addy
i wouldnt worry to much, there not your debts so there not your problem. Just carry on doing what your doing in returning to sender
surely any credit card they may apply for would only be sent to your address so how would they expect to get it?

well they managed to get stuff from a catalogue ordered the stuff on 7th may and had it sent to a different address i dnt understand how they did that for a first order and the goods were worth 200 +
Don't open any more.

Send them all back not known at this address.

If you can, put them in an envolope with a covering letter saying they have moved, the date they moved and if you have it a forwarding address. Make it abundantly clear that they no longer have a connection to your address.
it would be a good idea as well, if you can, to put in a copy of your tenancy agreement if you have one - this is what I was asked for to prove the last tenant in my house was no longer living here. I have only found one who took my word for it that they had moved on - we still get letters for him and his mother. I get bank statements, dental appointments, GP letters and bingo cards.
it does make me cross when people do this.. why the hell should we all be honest and pay for goods and people like that do this type of thing and seemingly get away with it! The costs will always end up being passed onto the honest rest of us anyway!
You should call the credit card company and try to warn them they cardholder is committing fraud and wont be paying any bills...
Best to write 'Not Known' on mail & post in letter box as it's an offence to open other's mail.
