bednobs update
hi everyone, just thought i'd give a quick update.
I am now, amazingly, 19 weeks pregnant. Still in a state of shock. I went for my anomaly scan today and the baby was lying in the wrong position to tell very much. They couldn't look at the heart chambers, great vessels, abdomen, face, gi tract or basically anything you can see at the front, but did look at the spine, brain, kidneys etc. I have to go back in 2 weeks and hope that he/she has moved - i think the baby is going to be lazy like their mum, just couldn't be bothered to roll over today!
I have been feeling what i think are movements for about 3 days, but the placenta is at the front so i might not feel proper kicks later on.
I still haven't even thought about buying anything, and clearly will be remaining team yellow for at least the next 2 weeks. I feel more relaxed now than i did at the begining but cant really relax fully till the scan in 2 weeks i think (although whether i'll be able to enjoy things even then is another matter i suppose!
i bought one of those foetal dopplers the other day, but have been too afraid to use it because i worry if i cant find the heartbeat i'll go into a spin!
dont look pregnant yet, but as i'm not a stick, i am well padded anyway :)

glad everything they could check is all well.
sounds like you are feeling kicks even though placenta is at front, dont worry youll feel (and see) the ones in the last trimester regadrless of where the placenta is lol
i could never bring myself to buy a doppler, i was of same opinion that i would panic if i couldnt find baby.
so are you finding out the sex at next scan then?

Oh I see! Sorry bednobs that sounded really rude didn't it? I didn't know and imagined you had fallen down the stairs or something. Glad you didn't!
In answer to your other question about needing a mothers help, maybe a local childcare college could help? When I was training to be a nursery nurse I went on a placement with a lady who was in a wheelchair and had a 3mth old to help her.
