I'm quite upset, I'm just back from the park about an hour or so now after walking my dog,
As I was crossing over one of the fields I seen this man strolling along the path reading a piece of paper then all of a sudden this huge dog was running at me, I panicked for my own dog who is much smaller so i bent down to pick my dog up and this dog just jumped on me growling. I jumped up and went to run off with my dog but this dog kept going for me not my dog. The man who was reading the piece of paper walked over calling the dog and telling me the dog was harmless. I was quite upset and asked him was it his dog, he said yes at which point the dog jumped up at me again going for my arm.
I screamed at the man to get his f-ing dog away from me. He told me to calm down that I should f*cking relax. He didn't even have a lead to put the dog on!! At this point the tears were flowing and i turned around and shouted at the man that his dog was dangerous and that he should have his f*cking dog on a lead.
This man didn't give a sh!t, he had no lead for his dog. He was in a public park with this dog, A lot of families go to this park what if that dog went for a small child??
Is there any law etc about dogs been on leads in public parks or should I complain to the park attendant or can he do anything??
Sorry if have repeated myself..just a bit upset and wound up :(
the council will dop sod all except tell you they have signs up saying dogs must be kept on a lead, ring the police and speak to the dog warden and then make a complaint and get the cops to check cctv and track the guy down and put a curse on him
Sorry to hear that suzezy its idiot owners like this that give responsible owners and dogs bad names!
Feel free to have my lot jump all over him and see how he likes it!
as I mentioned last week all dogs should be on a lead and muzzled whilst out in public. I would have shat myself with my fear of dogs or just passed out as I hyperventilated.
I get really panicky whenever I see the rottweiler up my road as its never on a lead as man that owns it is in wheelchair.
What a horrible experience for you. This man should never be allowed to have a dog. I don't know about the laws in the UK but here in Denmark dogs must be on leads at all times except in places where it is marked that they can run free as long as their owner has control over them, something "your dog man" seemed sadly to lack. I think you should definitely complain and I hope that you can put this behind you.
Sorry forget, just seen your eply now, sorry, I honestly don't know 4get,he was a mix I'd say as I was looking at dog breeds earlier trying to recognise the breed and couldn't..He was around the same size maybe slightly bigger than an alsatian but not a long haired dog at all.
