I had a ban over five years ago, if I applied for a job would I have to declare this, even though my licence would now be clean?

For a 10 year ban..lol
Declare it, because things have a nasty habit of rebounding and biting you on the bum so to speak. I f you dont and they find out and sack you, then you will be devasted, so start as you mean to go on, be honest with your intended employer rather than have that nagging feeling that it will come to light.
Good luck.
