Buying land with existing squatters (take2)
3 Answers
A family member has a small plot of land that is part of a larger piece of land but which is not segregated.
Somebody has placed a static caravan across the land, fenced it all off and has been squatting for some time.
My family member has agreed to buy the rest of the land that they do not own, on the condition that the squatters are first evicted.
The person who owns the rest of the land is taking a long time getting nowhere in regard to getting the squatters off so my familiy member is considering buying it as is and then forcing the squatters off themselves.
What issues could this raise legally? And if someone is given a reasonable time in which to move, would they be breaking the law by then physically moving that persons property from the site?
No guessers please. :) Thanks.

How long is 'some time'? It is bad news really because it is best to seek a Possession Order soon after the owner of the land is made aware of the squatters' presence.
