smoking in cars with children

i worked in a maternity hospital for years and one of the things i saw unable to do or say anything was a mother partner and her mother get into a car to take the new baby home the mother sat in the rear holding the child immediately all three adults lit up cigarettes before driving off windows closed, my blood was boiling,
you'll never stop this like you won't stop drivers using mobiles while driving

Or when the parents pick their children up from school and instantly light up a fag - or pushing a buggy with a fag in their hand? (and yes, I am a smoker - outside the house only).

disgusting habit...if people could only see my dads final few hours they would never put a cigarette in their mouths....

hello. my mother in law said this was common practice when she went to visit her inlaws with her new baby boy. As they had travelled to Aberdeen, drives were the thing to do with her and baby in the back of the car and her in-laws and husband puffing away.
40 odd years have passed and i believe its still commonplace, although smoking is much more frowned upon thesedays.
quite the selfish thing to do.

Sherr....as a smoker myself I also hate to see parents outside the school gates smoking. Why can't they wait 5 mins? I bet they manage on their flight to Spain each year...!!
