Has anyone here ever had their delivery made at the beginning of the delivery slot, or are you all like me and it always arrives at the end (if at all!)?
Expecting the kids trampoline to be delivered today - hoping it's going to fit in the garage - have cleared a space ready, so that we can hide it until Christmas. It could arrive anytime between 8.30 and 5.00 today. My lovely neighbour has waited in for it so far and I am home now. Kids are due home at 3.15 so what's the chance that it will turn up before they get back? My guess would be that it will either be getting brought out of the van as they arrive home or it will arrive while they are in the house.
Can't complain as it is not late, it would just be good if these things worked out once in a while!!
The only time I WANTED a delivery to be later in the day it turned up bang on the nose at 8am. I was still in bed with the most crushing hangover. The DFS man took one look at me and said "oh dear" to his mate.
I have wasted a few days of annual/flexi leave waiting for deliveries and for them to turn up at 6pm or even after. I also once took a day off for an Ikea delivery and it didn't even turn up. When I rang them up they said they had no record of it! Arrrggghhh!
You'll be very lucky if it does turn up before the kids arrive home. Fingers crossed for you.
On the bright side, my neighbour is a cleaning freak so has done the floors, a load of washing and put the dishwasher on - if I'd thought it through, I shoud have left the house in a tip!
Annie, is the trampoline arriving fully erected? I'd assume it was flat-packed. If so, the box will weigh a ton, but will easily fit in a small(ish) space.
Frustrating isn't it tigger? Fingers crossed from me too! To be fair hubby reckons he can keep it hidden in their with them not knowing, I think that's unrealistic as their bikes, skates etc are all in there.
The Trampoline is really from Granny- used my Tesco vouchers plus her money to buy it. As fas as I am concerned, I'll try to keep it hidden as it would be a fantastic surprise but if they see it at least its not meant to be from Santa.
Naz - I am expecting it to be in a box - together with the surround - 12 foot trampoline so here's hoping! We only have 2/3rds of the garage left as we used the back bit to expand the kitchen/utility room.
We have just moved house and decided to replace all kichen apps, and quite a lot of living room furniture.Everything was bang on time.Maybe the recession is waking suppliers up a bit
These delivery slots can be a pain in the neck at times. Had 2 Parcels delivered yesterday by 2 different Couriers which should have been delivered last week as I could not stay in all day waiting. Alls well that ends well as they say !
lol vibes - you could be right ;o) - needed to get a decent size one as they are growing boys.........the fact that it now has a 19 stone weight limit is merely convenient as it allows a lot of growing room for all concerned!!!
redman - pain as you say - I don't mind if they just take it to the delivery office as it os not too far from me, a trampoline is a different matter though, if they don't deliver it - I can't collect it. They need a signature apparantly otherwise would just leave the garage open for them to put it in.
When a company says it could be between say 8-5, I don't belive anybody gets it at 8.
I got some new sofas delivered a few weeks ago and they said it would be between 8 and 5. I got up at 8 and sat on the floor until they knocked on the door at 4.55. It was a rather uncomfortable day!
Aww shame millie - incidentally, the best I have ever dealt with for deliverys is argos. The always phone to check you are home and will is asked call you at the beginning of the day to say roughly when they will be there and have in past phoned me 15 mins before arrival to allow me to come home from work to meet them.
