My so called friend lost her bank card and apparently 15 mins after she left me money was withdrawn and she has accused me.

She said the police are involved and I'm petrified. I live with my parents and do not want police at my door.

I dont know what to do can anyone help

is there any way I can find out if she has gone to the police and contact them myself?

...And...if she is a bit of a nutter she may well have tried this one before and may be known to the police already.. time wasting frowned upon ...Please get on with your life and DONT WORRY

I know I should but can't stop this worrying feeling plus she knows where I live scared she'll show up
She would have done it by now !
Question Author
plus if I took it I wouldn have got a payday loan this week and got myself into debt
Honest dont fret... you are making yourself ill ! It would all have come to a head by now.. it really wont.. listen to me woman.. old enogh to be your mum and wish I was there to give you a hug....
wrongly, if your "friend" had any sense she would have phoned her card provider immediately she realised she had lost the card, and it would have been cancelled. Under those circumstances the bank usually reimburse any drawings, and I have never had to get the police involved when I have lost my cards. I hope that she is winding you up - she has certainly got you running scared, it's bully tactics. I don't know what others might think but if in doubt, go off to the police station yourself and tell them what has happened. They will most likely just tell you not to worry - I bet she's not reported it.

Thats what I wanted to find out boxtops if she has actually reported it.

I spoke to her the morning after it went 'missing' and she had still not reported the loss to her provider which I told her she should have done.

And Murray thank you so much for all your help ths morning. Can I ask your advice on what Boxtops said.
If you think you can handle it ..yes a good idea... maybe you have a real friend you can confide in that will go with you ? I am sure Boxtops is right the Police will send you away and tell you to forget it.. they have enough to deal with ....
Question Author
I'd rather be certain than having them at my parents door
Question Author
The thing is I dont know what police station she 'told' I asked her for the details but she said no
Then find a friend tell her all and go do it !
If any complaint is made an incident number is allocated and will be on the system
Question Author
What even if it's a differrent police station
They'll have it on a central computer if it's been given a crime number (which I doubt from what you say!). Your friend has broken her agreement with the card issuer if she hasn't reported it, she would be extremely stupid not to have done so - if she hasn't reported it as lost, and someone else has indeed got hold of her card, she is liable for all the money drawn out if she hasn't told them. More fool her, wrongly - it is not a nice thing to have to do but I would walk into your local police station and have an informal chat with the duty officer. Don't let it drag you down any longer.

Thank you all so much for your help
Totally agree boxtops... We cant all be wrong WA !
Wrongly - let us know how you get on - good luck!
Good luck WA... please let us know how things go..... Try and have a happy xmas and put this untimely misery behind you...

Big hugs xx
I'll apologise now for this, if I am wrong, but is this a wind-up? Someone whose name is "wrongly accused", and only joined yesterday with just this one question? for us to help wrongly accused who has been wrongly accused? Puh-leeze!
don't be so cynical SB poor girl is in obvious distress and needs a few crumbs of comfort and support from whomsoever she can get it
