The meeting is to obtain informtion concerning misapropriation of company goods which took place oon the evening of 22nd january 2011 and could result in disciplinary action being taken against you and your possible summary dismissal from the company.
You ar entitled to have a representative with you who can be either:

a fellow worker.
It says if i am unable to atted the meeting to contact them imediatelly to discuss an alternative date/time. the phone no xxxxx
Please read my other post regarding this situation. Investigation awaiting investigation.
I would like you to advise me what to tell in the meeting on tuesday and what would be the possible disciplinary action ?

If they do find that its a contravention, I am not sure about tesco but in the NHS, outcomes might be
legal action unlikely because to the low value of the item dismissal possible
final written warning possible

Thanks for the answer
I will attend the meeting but i will not be able to say much if they have a pre-conviction of my culpability. If any of the management team has already a pre idea formed this will be just a waste of time for me. So, i am afraid to be desmissed in the ground of the allegations made against me.

Newspapers are returned for credit as they are all on SOR. You should not have taken it at all. Loss to tescos in the news section will run into 100s of thousands pa, it is the biggest loss department in any large news retailer. The view would be that this might not have been the first time you have done this. It may cost you your job.

You clearly have a negative impression of your local Tesco's managers. Carry on with that attitude and there is indeed a high probability that you will be dismissed. Summary dismissal means no notice pay given - you are just out from the date of the interview, which will be your last paid day.
Do us the people above suggest and you might, just might, survive with a job and a smaller sanction against you.

Hello and thank you for your answers.
I went to the interview today. I tought this meeting was aimed to be disciplinary but it wasnt. The meeting was just to gather the information (my statement) and explain the circumstances. My views and explanations. I said to the manager that the mistake is done and that there is no way turning back and i dismissal is likely. She had a cassete tape, showing me that i was taking the paper and it also shows that the other member of staff was with me. So i explained that i didnt intend to take the paper and that i had asked the other member of staff and she had replied that she didnt know. The paper remained on my hands. The paper was MEN - o.45£. She will now talk to the store manager and let me know until the end of this week - until then i will remain suspended on full pay. I also talked about my gross misconduct and that this could result on my dismissal. Apologised and stated that i needed the job very much.
Probabily i am being to negative and pessimistic but sometimes being pessimistic is sinonymous of being realistic. I told the true and that i understand the rules and company procedures. I more or less admitted.
