teeth fillings
8 Answers
I recently enquired about removing some amalgam tooth fillings and changing them for white fillings. As it is considered cosmetic dentistry, I consulted a private dentist and was sent a 10 pages documents telling me about the different procedures.
The precautions taken to make sure that the mercury was safely extracted were on par with those in an operating theatre ( be-goggled, be-gloved, be-gowned, with air filters,etc...) .
The basic price for 4 one-surface teeth is over £1,000 excluding the (obligatory) pre and post visits with the hygienist ( £ 105 an hour ) .
can anybody tell me if those prices are the norm ? The dentist practice is in Yorkshire.

The dental clinic was so modern it looked like the inside of a spacecraft and you could watch the work being done on a tv screen that came down from the ceiling [ not me I am too squeamish !]

I think that I might see what prices are charged in Lancashire (near enough to go regularly ) or even Scotland ( a good reason to go on mini-breaks up there ! ).....I might consider the dentist's prices but not his hygienist's......
many thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I really do appreciate it.
