The X-Factor becomes the Zzzz-Factor

Is anyone else thoroughly fed up with the X-Factor? Tears, emotion, conflict, and long moments spent in breathless anticipation of 'life-changing' decisions - not to mention mainly mediocre talent. Has it's format been stretched too far - and is X-Factor now past its sell-by date?

I don't watch it. But if I did, Peter Kay's 'Geraldine McQueen' would be in the back of my mind.

I would say yes but there are plenty of people who wouldn't agree with me.

I always enjoy watching the audition stages but as soon as it comes to the live shows I give up. Although I have now taken to watching the Xtra Factor - you get all the info you need without having to sit through 2 hours of show that could be condensed to half the time.

There are not many people who have made any huge success out of appearing on that show but it doesn't seem to put anyone off.

I used to enjoy it but it's just tedious now. Even the auditions. Why did they show the "hopefuls" putting their makeup on?
There is nobody who stands out except maybe that Misha girl.

Well if you class her as a huge success then that's one out of (not sure what show number it is now).... a lot.
But is she even really that successfull? She had a couple of number ones and was promptly shoed off to the States. She does appear occasionaly in Heats best dressed article from time to time. Does that quantify success?

Will Young and JLS have done well from the back of these shows, but I would say they are more the exception.

Also, had I been one of the mugs who picked up the phone and paid to vote for Leona, I would have been mightly peeved that they almost straight away flung her across the ocean to be barely heard of here again.

I don`t bother with the X Factor anymore. The format has become tired. I used to like it when Simon Cowell was on because his cutting remarks were entertaining. I watched the American version the other night though, and there was a lot more talent on that.

I quite like the fact that Louis Walsh has assumed the role of batty uncle who is wilfully putting through oddballs just to wind up the viewing public.

I like the roly-poly one. Craig is it? and the large woman, but the rest of it is rubbish. What on earth is that gay one still doing there?

Seems like glorified karaoke to me except for the badly scripted banter that passes between Cowell and his sycophants. Oh and Simon, there are only so many strops you can pull before that's just as tired as the rest of the format.

The previous winners have been Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry and Matt Cardle; all of whom because of the timing of the contest have gone on to secure the Christmas/New Years No. 1 single.

Most of them have long-since been condemned to the 'Pontins' circuit.

I sincerely wish that the TV companies would prune these shows...

Matt has been working on his album. I think he will well as he can sing, write and play instruments :-)

I don't think there is one person on this years 'X' factor that outshines the rest. Think this show had reached its sell by date.

i realise that people do elect to go on these shows and it is their choice but to select someone just to humilate them, well its just leaves a bad tast in my mouth, i stopped watching it a long time ago

Telly gets firmly switched off when the X factor comes on now. Nothing worth watching on any other channels either.

We spent the evening listening to old CD's - very enjoyable!!
