7 Answers
I watched Celebrity Mastermind on the BBC the other night and was quite concerned for one of the contestants Mel Smith. Is he ill as he seemed to be having some difficulty speaking? Thanks.

There were some suggestions he is in the early stages of parkinsons. Sounds more believable than a throat infection. I also heard a suggestion he may have throat cancer. I wish him well.

As I said, the official explanation is a serious throat infection:
"A BBC spokesman said: 'Mel was unwell on the day of recording with a serious throat infection.
'He was representing a charity and didnt want to let them down. We were grateful he went ahead with the recording despite not being at his best.'"
OK, so the source is the Daily Mail and there are those who don't buy this explanation, but still ...
