Loose Women - the sexist debate....

Ok, I am going to tread carefully here.....!
Is there an argument that suggests the Loose Women panel are far more sexist towards men on their show (which is aired live, not secretly recorded and leaked to youtube), than a certain former Sky Sports presenter? Now, they are usually talking about husbands, boyfriends etc, and it is done in a humorous way but to be blunt, they often speak about men in a sometimes patronising way. I am not saying sack the Looses Women, but it is an interesting comparison.

Not sure what the question is, but who is going to get uptight if a show aimed at a particular gender has a bit of sexism in it ? I'd hope my skin was thicker than that - so long as it wasn't done nastily.

There are certain combinations of women on LW that work............and then reasoned and reasonable discussions can be had.
Unfortunately, these don't come around too often and so we usually have the cackling, sexist, fawning, dribbling, sycophantic, name-dropping celebri'ees who give women a bad name.

great point! Now I'm emailing ITV to get that chaff off the telly once and for all! I watched it when I was off one day because Sean Lock was on it and he just told them lie after lie to wind them up, it was great! Other than that, my word to they talk some junk!

I too think the Sky sports debacle has been blown out of proportion. Men & women working closely together often develop a banter-type relationship.

As for Loose women jd - I agree with you. So no backside kicking from me....

Makes you think what gets said off air and god forbid they were still hooked up to the mic and it got leaked. Thats my main point - they are pretty "Loose" on air!
I suppose you could say that is the nature of the programme, if you dont like, dont watch.

As I said, in my first reply, not *all* of the Loose Women are air-headed topers with a chest measurement that exceeds their IQ and prone to making coarse comments about men..................it's just that the ones that they seem to have most regularly appear to be.

I watched it a few times when layed up with flu and subjected to daytime TV for a week! The woman who sits on the far left and seems to be the host, was very careful how she put things and carried the show well. But, the Nolan sister and another woman who seems to be a party animal "alcoholic" who really should know better, were very patronising towards the men in their life and men in general.

I get the theory behind the show and the appeal to the audience. But, if they become too opinionated, have we now set a tolerance level with the Andy Gray incident and they might have to be little more careful??
