I don't theinkl they are 'getting rid' of him - I think he just doesn't want to do it any more. Still, Bond will live on, and so will the debate about whom the next one should be.

depending who you speak to the stories differ.

brosnan says they kicked him without even telling him to his face.

the studio say that he wanted too much money.

he was a good bond and maybe he shouldve gone before he made one film too many like messrs connery and moore did.

i have said for ages that clive owen will be the next bond.he has the right look and is at the right point in his career.

By all accounts he was asking for 30 million for his next Bond film but it has backfired as he has obviously priced himself out of the market!

Clive Owen is a good call, maybe Ioan Gruffydd in another few years.

Pierce Brosnan was a good Bond but he only ever said that he'd do four Bond films, and the production company only wanted him to do four. As for Clive Owen, no way, he doesn't look like a Bond at all. Next one must be Dougray Scott, after all James Bond is Scottish, and he doesn't look limp-wristed like Clive Owen.

I read that they are "going back in time" to Bond's younger years, and therefore Q (or R, John Cleese) won't be featured as they steer away from the humour in it; they want it to be grittier.

Pierce Brosnan for me is the ultimate Bond, and they are foolish to let him go, what's 30million to a multi-billion film company. With a bit of botox, he'd have been ready to save the world again.

In A Pickle - I'd definatelt pay to see Meatloaf as 007, what a film that would be!!!!!!!!!
Bond Scottish? Do you mind! Fleming had David Niven, or some similar, slightly caddish English gentleman, in mind when he created the character, not a Scottish tough guy like Sean Connery. Just goes to show even authors can get it wrong. I think it would be a serious mistake to get an American to play the part (much as I'd love to see Johnny Depp do it), but that may be how it ends up. I suspect the producers are impressed by the success of films like XXX and The Bourne Whatsit and would like someone about 25 for the role. Sounds like a bad idea to me, but then how many blockbusters have I produced? None.

It funny I never thought Sean should of been a James Bond due to being Scottish.  I much prefered Roger Moore the classy Englishman.  Pierce (Irish when will we learn!!!) was originally asked to do the next James Bond then received news stating that they had changed their mind.  I know for a fact they said he was looking a tad too old for the character, he was none too pleased.......can't say I blame him.  The next James Bond should be handsome HUGH GRANT.... oh la de da :)

I'm thinking about applying for the role myself !
