They are the TV equivilant of a tabloid newspaper and when you consider who owns them they would be.
To much TV time not enough real news and they don't even cover what news there is beyond the sensational.

When you have a 24 hours news channel you have to have "breaking news" every so often to make it seem you are right there when "important" news happens.
Of course there was a large debate when he became Labour leader and it was found out they had 2 children but were not married (scandal scandal).
So I suppose now they are making it "legal" is rather newsworthy.
