Hiya Seagull.
Weather permitting, Bobjugs and I are heading in your direction tomorrow. Any must sees or must dos for a day out in Brighton? We've already been advised to go to the Palace and visit The Lanes.
Thanks,
HB. x

Hi guys, sorry for not replying sooner. I'm having a lovely week off, Fluffy. Shame it's nearly over.
Thanks, Ummmm. I'm really looking forward to seeing Brighton.
Triggs, I don't think poor old Bob could handle me AND JJ. lol
Cazzz - if JJ had the time, we'd be happy to share a Margarita or six with her.
JTH... who's Father Bill?
Zuehl... I'm sure we'll take in the pier whilst we're there.

Hi, Hummingbird.
Sorry I wasn't here yesterday.
If, by some happy chance, you check in here this morning ... read what I posted half way down page 2 of this thread ...

It's a good way to do a lap of the town, and I started and finished the route in The Lanes.
Tips:
1. Avoid anything that claims you "must see" it ... like the Pavillion.
2. I apologize for the Pier ... it's really cheesey, and quite embarrassing.
3. If you pass ANY of the following pubs, go in for a drink ... The Cricketers, The Mesmerist, The Sussex, The Princess Victoria (it's a lesbian pub, but everyone is welcome, and it's really jolly), The Victory.
4. Don't be tempted to go out to the Marina ... it's ghastly.
5. Just mooch around and lose yourself. It's the best way to "do" the town.
I'm sure you'll have a much better day than me. I'm going up to smell London again.
If I'm too late, and you don't get this then, sorry my darling, and I hope you had a jolly day.

Thanks, JJ. We did have a nice time. We weren't in a rush to do or see anything in particular, it was more about a change of scenery.
We grabbed an icecream when we first got there and had a walk around. We sat on the peer with a pint of Magners and glass of vino and then headed for some lunch at a Vietnamese place next to Jamie Oliver's gaff. We did the Sea Life centre, found another pub and sat outside, etc. All in all, 'twas a very pleasant and relaxed day.
On a separate note.... anyone know where I can get a toaster shaped like The Stig's helmet? (I know, I know, he's just a great big kid!!)
