TV Reception interuptions
1 Answers
Hi, I have had sky sattelite for years but recently i have been losing the signal on the free channels. Sky channels are fine but BBC1, BBC2 ITV etc lose the signal most often late evenings either stuttering on and off or can go off for minutes. I have cut down a tree, blamed rain , wind etc but never really know when it will go of and lately it can happen anytime of the day. I feel stupid to explain to a tv repair guy that sky channels work perfect only free channels go off but can't pin point when exactly. Anyone had this problem? I live in South Wales near the border. Any help most appreciated, a peeved couch potato.

your television channels are lost? If so .. are you referring to Digital TV or old analogue?
If Sky channels fail .. you need to check the LMB on the dish for water ingress through connector maybe..or the dish for alignment. If it's a 60cm it will have to be aligned pretty good. If 80cm it's not quite as critical.
If TV channels fail it's probably due to switchover .. or possibly existing antenna not optimised for new digital channel packets.
