Market Deeping & Deeping St. James are two very nice places to live. They are about eight miles north of Peterborough, just over the county border in Lincolnshire. There is a mix of period houses and new estates in both of these large villages. The 'locals' are welcoming & the facilities good. Community charges in Lincolnshire are slightly cheaper than in Cambridgeshire.
As a previous poster has said, Oundle & Elton are nice but housing is more expensive. Stamford, too, is a good place to live but more expensive than the two Deepings.
Why not pay a visit and have a look? The locals will be pleased to see you.
