I love it! Unfortunately the language/violence hasn't impressed Mme LeMarchand, so I have to watch it on my own. (Though she is impressed by the language when they're not swearing!)

Season 2 started a couple of weeks ago in the US.

hi thanx for the input I am in NY on long island.Speaking of the language, between the csand mfs.I am wondering if the language which seems ----what? sophisticated or european is that the people were recent immigrants from europe,and the typical americanese has not yet been assimilated into the language??maybe??respond please good luck charlie

I guess that you've already seen the first 3 eps of S2 then! It doesn't start here until September (?) officially.

Anyway, despite having been an English teacher, Mme LeMarchand is at a loss for a simple description of the non-swearing language on the show. I think you are probably right about why it is so rich - in many ways it seems to be fairly accurate 19th Century sentence structure (which was a fair bit more complex than today's).
