Anyway, despite having been an English teacher, Mme LeMarchand is at a loss for a simple description of the non-swearing language on the show. I think you are probably right about why it is so rich - in many ways it seems to be fairly accurate 19th Century sentence structure (which was a fair bit more complex than today's).
