Is the best TV show on at the moment BBC4's re-run of every 1976 edition of TOTP?

It was must-see viewing in its day - now, it does seem so... manufactured.

Hi cupid- I too loved the Glam Rock era but it had come to an end by 1976. There was a lot of rubbish around in 1976 lke the Wurzels, smurfs, Laurie Lingo and the Dipsticks, etc. I loved TOTP but 1976 was certainly not the best year they could have chosen.

Well I love it. Late 70s & early 80's was my childhood and these re-runs bring the memories flooding back, even if the music wasn't that great. It is what you associate with it that brings a smile, and I associate the SodaStream, space hoppers, seeing Herbie films at the Odeon and my Dad's new 'Coke Bottle' Mk III Cortina with this era and those memories will never leave me.

They chose 1976 as it was from then they had a consistent run still recorded
Might start get better as we get to the 80's or maybe they could rerun the old grey whistle test too
