I have no desire to, nor see th attraction and fascination of other people in putting my personal, private and social life on public display to all and sundry.
And I won't even begin to recount the problems it has caused in my place of work.
What does amaze me is the amount of people who complain when some irrelevant piece of info about them is bandied all over FB, but post exactly the same nonsense about someone else a few hours later!
As for keeping in touch with people, what's wrong with a phone call or the odd emailed photograph?

I always feel the need to stick up for Facebook.
I get the feeling there are a lot of people who like to jump on the the 'Facebook is the cause of all bad in this world' band wagon. For a start, Facebook does not cause problems. Facebook does not have affairs, nor does it get p1ssed and do moronic things on a Friday night nor does it air peoples dirty laundry in a public place - it's the users who do all that.
Secondly, in terms of seeing a load of boring old tosh on there, yes some people do feel the need to share the most mundane points of their day on there but that doesn't mean you have to look at it. It's the same as any other website, like this one. There are frequently posts on here about things that people did/remember, etc 40 years before I was even born and I have no interest in them, so I don't bother looking at them. If you don't like it, then don't look at it.

I posted this in January and think it's FB at its best.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole - I wouldn't even touch it with somebody else's barge pole. I like to keep my private life to myself, although I quite often give information on here about my past. It seems to me to have caused a great deal of trouble. Personally, I don't want to know any of my relations who I am not already in touch with, and I have telephone, email and skype to keep in touch with them. I was once asked to be a friend by a person I had bought books from on ebay. Friend? I didn't even know him except he liked the same kind of books that I did. Honestly! No I don't want to be on Facebook.
