TV licence...
According to the TV Licensing web site, one of the criteria for not needing to buy a TV Licence is ''if you only watch programmes on your computer after they have been shown on TV'' (for example, BBC iPlayer).
If I complete the Online Declaration Form stating the above as one of the reasons why personally I do not need a licence, how will they know if I do subsequently watch ''live'' TV via my computer?

If you have a TV in the house that is receiving signals, you need a TV Licence.''
tony... we have a tv that is used only for watching DVDs. We have no rooftop aerial, no wiring for an aerial coming in to the house and no internal set top aerial or freeview box. We have two laptops that connect to cable broadband (no tv or landline with the broadband package).

Hmmm that 5 second delay box you got will pay for itself quickly then :-D
It's a daft tax anyway. they persecute those without a licence implying they have to be lawbreakers and will be prosecuted, then spend a fortune both on gathering payments and chasing down payment dodgers with their expensive vans. Madness. Would save a fortune just taking it out of general taxation. But I suspect that's too sensible.
