I was just wondering which area you are in with regard to your missing cat. I have just read my local newspaper and there is a similar looking cat in the lost and found section (although it just says can you give this cat a good home) I would hate to get your hopes up and I suspect that all tabby cats look the same to me but I wanted to mention it just in case. The newspaper is the Wakefield Express (West Yorkshire) by the way. If you live at the other end of the country I'm sure this isnt Rover.

Tigwig, that is really kind of you - we've been away so I've only just seen your message. Yes, we are down in Kent - and to be honest I've never known Rover get in any sort of vehicle by choice so I would doubt it's him - but I am so grateful to everyone for keeping on looking. My neighbour has held the cat-phone while we've been away, and no news at all. It'll be two months this coming Wednesday, we are hoping very much that someone has taken him in, but we are not giving up hope yet!
