DM today: Crows have an excellent memory for human faces; distinguishing between friendly & dangerous faces, and warning other crows. They can remember dangerous faces for up to 5 years after first sight.

How extraordinary. Crows are horrid birds - sinister, noisy & unfriendly. But I won't be going out of my way to upset any - thereby risking the scene from Hitchcock's The Birds unfolding outside my house to attack me on the way to work.
