isn't it time to scrap the Go Compare adverts? They get worse and worse, and the latest are seriously stupid. That guy is such an overrated singer anyway

I cannot abide these (a many other current) adverts, however I would suggest the singer is more highly rated by opera aficianados than you.

Erm....job done, I would think. You have obviously retained the name of the company and know what it is doing...That is what advertising is all about. Irritating yes, effective....very much so. :)
I don't think the 'rating' of the singer is a big deal one way or the other, really.
Like most adverts, they are actually designed to get "on one's nerves"...
Go Compare are very savvy in the way they advertise...and as you can see, it keeps people talking about. it hasn't done Mr Evans any harm either judging by the link ABerrant sent.

I disagree..........I wouldn't buy Cilit Bang for years because I hated the advert.
I love opera, but i don't like him, vastly overrated, have a listen to Jonas Kaufman, or Juan Diego Florez. Get rid of the ads they are a pain.
Some you win,some you lose.
craft, are you saying you deliberately chose an inferior product? I wouldn't do that, no matter what.
I wouldn't know if it was a better product or not as I refused to buy it. Same as I would never buy a DFS sofa or Safestyle windows.
Never mind the advert my friend has started collecting them and every time I go up there is another one staring . Bet she has about 20 or more now.Gives me the creeps even looking at them. Horrible things.
The ones with the meer cats I mean.
We usually record the programme we want to watch, and then you can whizz through all the annoying adverts - so much better!
i read somewhere that he has been signed up for a west end show so we might get some peace!
Whenever the ad comes on TV, I have to either mute the sound or change channels for a while. I have to agree with craft, I would never use go compare for insurance. I also hate the meerkat ads.

Well you have just given them some free advertising, as I have, so their advertising must be working.

Same as "we buy any car", the adverts have been deliberatly made "bad" so people talk about them and remember them.
I am so sick of this 'oh, you are talking about it - giving them free advertising so their campaign must be working' mentality. It really is the lowest common denominator in thought processes. Like the ads themselves it illustrates nothing more than a redundant, pedestrian and impoverished imagination. The fact that many people have stated that they would never visit their website because of their tedious and annoying advertising campaign is proof that their advertising campaign is not wholly effective. Great advertising should unite, not divide! Unfortunately their campaign shows little signs of slowing and I can imagine the ad. men are working day and night proposing more and more of these ads until every genre, cliche and theme is well and truly covered....go campare ads in heaven and hell?....go compare ads at somebodies funeral?.....I'm suprised we haven't had a country and western themed ad. 5 years ago I remember with nostalgic bliss that advertising breaks were filled with insurance companies trying to save us money, nowadays it's an endless slueth of price comparison sites trying to convince us that they can do the same.
