She appears to have a great deal of experience and seems knowledgeable about psychology. I'm just curious to know, does she have any qualifications in this field ie: a degree?
She was in our neck of the woods recently when my husband was out running. He smiled and said 'good morning' to the people she was with as well as her. The people she was with acknowledged and returned the greeting but she just frowned at my husband as if to say 'don't you know who I am'!!
it seems to me that the qualification she has is one that seems lacking in many, but of course not all, parents............common sense and the ability to make parents realise that they are the ones in charge and not the children.
I think she has many years experience but no formal qualifications beyond Level 3 childcare-y type thing that allows you to nanny. I like the program; bit of car crash telly but what she gives as advice is mostly common sense; routines, consistency etc it's just that the parents need someone to actually give them the support to enforce it.
Too often you hear "But if I discipline them (the children) they will not love me" Hasn't anyone got commonsense any more? Even if you let your dog sit in the best chair in the house it will think it's in charge. Children who are given rules by which to live know that someone cares enough about them to be bothered.
She's a very ignorant woman. I've met her at work and she was very rude. I think some of her advice is good but a lot of it is just common sense. It takes patience and calm to be a parent lol.
Hello ummmm, I know what you mean - but bringing a child up is a job for life. You don't go to work and say "I just can't do this job today" Having a child is a choice and best described as the toughest job you will ever do.
I like her and her programmes. To say, basically, she shouldn't be doing the job she is doing because she doesn't have children is a bit daft. Most parents don't have a clue what they are doing, and the way their children act are proof of that. You don't have to have children to understand how they operate!
