In June I had 2 x ATM fraud withdrawalls on my Nationwide Credit Card before I had even received my pin number however the transactions took place when the actual card was in my possession. These were 2 x £200 withdrawals.

I informed Nationwide's fraud department and completed a Credit Card Dispute Form and wrote them numerous letters, it has taken 41 days for a response which should take 7-10 days maximum. They have wrote to me advising that I had told them I had wrote down my pin and that somebody must have seen this but I have done nothing of the sort and have never told them this!! It is a bare faced lie so they can get out of refunding the money. Now they are refusing to put the money back, in the meantime I am getting charged interest and nobody seems to be bothered, I only work part time and cannot afford to be repaying this amount of money when I never had the money in the first place and I dont know where to turn next???

I found nationwide very unhelpful and very rude, they were insulting. I will never ever use their services for anything ever again and advise you all to beware of nationwide yourselves as i would hate for this to happen to anybody else :(

I certainly won't be using them. That is disgusting. They can afford the mistake, you probably can't.
Ask them to provide evidence that you told them you had written the PIN down. They make a point of saying all calls are recorded so ask to hear a copy of the recording where they make that claim.
Have you got in touch with the Financial Ombudsman?
Ask them for a copy of the form on which you are supposed to have said this (or ask to hear the tape if they claim you said it on the phone).
But are you sure they are accusing you of this or are they just suggesting that could have happened
Firstly follow Nationwide's published Complaints Procedure:

http://www.nationwide...aking_a_complaint.htm

Than if you are not satisfied you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service:

http://www.nationwide...ombudsman_service.htm

Unless you exhaust Nationwide's complaint's procedure, the FOS can turn your referral to them down.

Good luck.
