Grrrr supermarket rant
62 Answers
OK, I hate supermarkets at the best of times, but am always polite and pleasant to the staff - until today.
Get to the checkout and the girl doesn't even acknowledge I am there and launches into a conversation with a mate who happens to pop by. I pack my shopping listening to their inane chat about FB, what they are doing tonight, have they seen so and so. Hell I even had to wait to interrupt them for some more bags. After quite some time, I lost my rag and omg, did I lose my rag. Had a right go at her, and when he started getting lippy with me I tore a strip off him too. I was just so furious that I was spending a shed load of cash and she couldn't be bothered to drag herself away from a conversation. And then when he waded in (his silliest comment was "you are just jealous that she's got a job")
No question, just a rant. Why are people so bloody stupid. A courteous "hello" etc would not have been amiss.

Because they could not give a toss ....
aka Look at the latest rioters
I used to work in a shop when I was 16 and petrol stations from 16 to 20.
Must admit I could also not careless.
Used to watch people fill petrol engine cars up at the diesel pump (This was 1980 when most cars were petrol). Wait trill they cam over and paid ...and say "That's a car of that type I have never seen before"
Why they would say
"With a diesel engine"
Then they would kick off and If they got funny with me ...I would say "I will call the police and tell them your threatening me with violence and possible robbery"
Charming I was ...
So nowt has changed with kids I guess ?

I was somewhere the other day and I thought how rude some people were! Just came to me where I was, having my mole removed last week, while I was on the table, top cloohing off, doctors/ nurses just waded in and out not even knocking on the door, not even acknowledging that I was there. Also in the supermarket, when the person infront of me knew the person serving, and although their shopping had been processed (?) stood there for about 5 minutes gassing away before I told them I had somewhere to be and to please make it quick x
On the subject of bad manners ...
Was at Heathrow terminal 5 last year or was it year prior ...anyway chap behind me in queue for scanner kept nudging me forwards.
I could not move forwards in queue until person in front of me was processed.
After the third nudge , I turned around and gave a hard stare.
Anyway at scanner they asked me to take my shoes off.
He was also asked and did not like doing it and moaned at the security staff.
He was either French or had a French accent.
Anyway when I smiled and made chit chat with security girl on scanner arch , I said "He got on my nerves in the queue ...nervous I think and now he does not like taking his shoes off" ....
He got the full treatment then ....

No I didn't sher, but I don't like our new small ASDA, it's rubbish compared with our Morrisons. Morrisons' are still free. I was reading something on recycling yesterday - it said that after a flying start a couple of years ago, the use of carrier bags is creeping back. France has apparently banned them altogether.
cazzz - re your hospital experience - that goes against all the policies that patients should be treated with dignity. I would complain about that. I complained about the breast screening clinic a while back - it's not a comfortable place at the best of times and the nurse was downright superior and snotty, she really upset me - so I reported it. I didn't hear any more but I felt better for doing it, and I've never seen her in our travelling screening clinic since...
