With the credit crunch, many people now stay in on Saturday night. Why don't the TV companies try to entice us to watch their channels. It is all rubbish TV imo. I may have to change the habits of a lifetime and start to go out on a Saturday night.

Yep, got sky still crap.
Its shocking rubbish isn't it micmak. Last week we went to the pictures to get away from it. We saw Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy - I'd recommend it. This week we're having a look at something we've recorded and I dare say Mr M will have a look at Match of the Day later.
Put your cynicism aside, pour the wine and get in to Strictly Come Dancing. It's a hoot and a joy
And lots of half naked women.

This week I have bought two old mini series from Amazon. The Thorn Birds and To Serve me all my Days. Future Saturdays I will be watching them. Can anyone recommend any others to buy?
Noooooooo HC. I watched Strictly for a good few series, but I can't stomach any more of it. Please no more series after this. We long for something different.

We're enjoying it - we watched Father Ted, and we're now watching a Time Team special on C4. It's good tonight for us.
We enjoyed the Forsyth Saga (original version).
I have been watching 24 every evening since Chrstmas when I put thing 1 and 2 to bed and that's good (but try and get it from the library as the full box set was something like £300 when I last saw it in HMV).

I dislike all reality TV hc. Jobs for the boys and girls. The same as Celebs going on jaunts. Joanna Lumbley, Billy Connelly Etc. I would rather watch paint dry.
We ARE watching paint dry here, micmak - OH painted the stairs this afternoon.
Eddie, how do you know if a thing is advertised on tv?
I hate cricket but don't demand it be banned.

I can smell it from here boxy.
Hi Cazzz - we've got them all now as himself bought them individually as they came out (still only on day six though, about three hours in and still got day seven to go to, will never see the end at this rate).
Thankfully the pong is fading..... we don't have Sky, couldn't be bothered (or afford it), there's generally enough on terrestrial tv to keep us happy.

Rugby in the morning again!
lol, I have taken to watching the xfiles as I never saw them the first time around
