Do the anachronisms in Downton Abbey spoil it for you? Can't say I've noticed.

yes they ruin it! especially 'put your foot down' and 'shafted'! x

there have been some expressions used in both series which grate, they don't spoil it, but some are too modern for the time the series are set. I think one was get knotted, or something like, which is most definitely not right.

perhaps it's the actors who do it, not sure that Julian fellowes would put those in the script.. if he has then should be a little more careful. I still love it though, engrossed in the stories.
