i got his autograph in the 70s!

he drew a smiley face in the loop under the 'y' in jimmy and made me laugh with some jokes!

He once owned a house in my village, in the 1970s, visited a little local cafe & signed his name with that same smiley face on the wall. It was there for years until the cafe closed & the premises became a funeral director's office.

He worked voluntarily for years with patients at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

i haven't demanded anything from anybody, just taking a moment to remember sir jimmy under the title of tv & media.

thanks for those who have contributed along similar lines and if you didn't like or respect him, that's fine too. nobody can like or enjoy everybody on tv!

from messages received on FB, i am aware his 'jim'll fix it' show was a massive PR fix for artists and businesses taking part!

i never realised as a child that my requests were too obscure and wondered why he didn't answer my letters!
