freeview problems

just bought new aerial for freeview, and box says that no signal is being received....any ideas?

Rooftop Aerial I presume ?
You need to do a full re-scan as if it was a new installation

What sort of aerial is it? If a rooftop I assume the installer would have checked before leaving that it was working OK.

yes, click down to adding new channels or whatever, and get the box to search for channels x
