Does anyone else think Gordon Ramsey is a pussycat compared to Gary Rhodes and His plate throwing rival Jean Christophe!

I think they're putting it on due to the popularity of the series when gordon was doing it.  Either that or Gary's "Mr Nice Guy" has been an act alll these years
I actually got the impression that Gary Rhodes is just putting on a act to make him look like some hard mean guy.
I agree, Rhodes is just playing the part of the hard man probably because the producers have told him to. I wish he wouldn't though cos it's embarrassing.

Yes it is a bit embarrasing when he loses it, I prefer the first series anyway it was much more fun seeing celebrities (if you could call them that)getting roared at.

Gary is Mr Nice guy normally, and yes, I believe that he has been told to be a bit "Ramsay-ish". I think this is so whichever team the final winner is from, they will be able to prove that the nice/hard approach works best.  Ramsay is a master though - his explosions were worth tuning in for - but JC has done pretty well with his "incident" with Henry - TESTOSTERONE alert!!  Mind you, he could stir my soup any day of the week!!

While on the subject - does anyone find Angus Deaton decreasingly funny, and just becoming downright nasty? I don't think he has said one nice thing about anyone since the start of this new show?  There is having a dry sense of humour, but this guy could put the Sahara to shame...

bondgirl, do you think he makes all the jokes up on the spot then as opposed to having it written for him.....??
I think thwe fact that he almost lost his voice proves he's not used to shouting. BTW I missed the end of last nights. Who got nominated?
No-one got nominated last night. I could have sworn they said there was going to be one.
I think its an act too! I prefered the first series, Abi Titmuss was in it wasnt she..........

Gevs1966, really not sure - my hubby reckons he's been given "carte blanche" to say what he wants, but I just find it a bit of shame when he never used to be that bad. Cynical and close to the bone yes, but nasty didn't really feature.  I mean could a script actually be written - are they sure of who's coming for dinner (you know what B Class celebs can be like!)?  I think he has a rough one and then ad libs as he sees fit.

Happy viewing!

Bondgirl, I'm with you on Angus Deayton.

By the way, just watched tonights show and Gary seems to have reverted to Mr nice guy, paying everyone compliments etc. which is good because he just couldn't do the Ramsay thing.
