Anyone know when the OAP bus pass, now called Freedom Pass, was introduced? Am trying to write a history of it but can get nothing from the internet

1971 rings a bell for some reason, but don't quote me on that as I'm sure that is wrong.

Like you, I can't find anything on internet either.
