Wonderful actor but as a guy he was different class, i was moved by the affection he had for his wife of 60 years, re -affirming their wedding vows well into their 90s..was one of the most touching scenes i have seen in many a year...as in a pickle rightly says he was a true gentleman and a supremely talented actor and dancer..it's a cliche i know but we will not see his like again for a very long time..R.I.P.

Few people in this day and age can live up to the tag 'Legend'.  In modern society, even fewer live up to the title of 'Gentleman'.

Sir John was the epitome of both.  An all time great and true stalwart of the British Film Industry, he had no equal.

Wonderful in Great Expectations, awesome in Ice Cold In Alex and true genius in Ryan's Daughter.

The final scene in Ice Cold In Alex is one of my all time favourites.

The film industry has witnesssed the passing of a true legend and should bow it's head in homage to a fine gentleman and actor.

RIP Sir John.

No one will ever fill the shoes of the old boy. He will never be forgotten.

Whenever you think of classic British cinema,John Mills always comes to mind.My particular favourite of his,is Hobson's Choice, such a great little character,Willie Mossop! The end of an era indeed, and the industry has lost a fine man and actor.
