Why do people hate the Beckhams?

Just read an article on the DM site and the main item in the story was the fact Victoria Beckham was yet again holding her baby daughter instead of having her in a pushchair, as if this was a bad thing.

Then it's filled with hundreds of comments below, mostly slating VB for some reason. I really do not get why people have such a dislike of her.

OK, so it might get a bit boring seeing their faces in the papers every day but they at least don't feel the need to sell their family photos to the highest bidder (not that they need the cash). She realised a while ago she isn't the best singer in the world so put her efforts into fashion, which she seems to have a knack for. I can't think of anything she has done that is so horrendous so why do people love to slate her so much?

Well it's nice to see people here aren't so quick to jump on the "lets slate the Beckhams" bandwagon.

Like most of you have said they just seem like a nice loving family to me. I'm sure they have nannies galore but they clearly love spending time with their kids too. And obviously I've never met their sons but they come across as nice, well behaved lads. Apart from that little Romeo, he looks a right cheeky little bugger. ;)

I know she is not everyones cup of tea but I like her,I think its this site if you read any of the celeb articles they are lots of hatefull comments on there,if you notice there is also an article on Martine McCutcheon critising her weight I think she looks lovely not the nicest dress but some of the comments underneth my god Martine Mcvities is one and who ate all the pies etc.Got to be pure jealousy underneath it all.

Yeah I think you might be a bit right there Trio. I've commented a few times before when someone seems to be getting a barage of abuse, usually for how they look.

Jno, I'm on the phone to social services about your terrible parenting skills. Who on earth would want to carry a baby! What is the world coming to.

I don't think people hate them.

I do think a lot of people are a bit bored ... but only with her, not with him.

Maybe it's the ..."fashion, which she seems to have a knack for" ... thing.

If I was worth £70million, and had a team of designers like VB, I think I could "have a knack" for fashion. Or at least, as with VB, I could have a whole team of people sucking up to me, and telling me that I had a knack for fashion.

I wonder if that's part of the problem?

Well, I suppose her "signature" design was VB jeans ... which are widely regarded as being a bit vulger.

I don't think books on the great fashion designers are ever going to devote many pages to VB ... except as an arriviste.

I have nothing against her, but she should just enjoy her money, and stop trying to convince the world that she is deeply talented. Her husband is the talented one.

I see it a little different to you JJ.

She clearly has a passion for it and in my opinion a talent for it too. She's might be using her name to trade in on it a bit but I think that's something everyone would do. I can't really fault her for it. It's a shame I have neither the figure or bank balance for any of her dresses.

Venator- maybe it's a problem that actually people can't identify with the likes of the Beckams. So it's easier to have a dig.

Sorry HC, I wasn't aware of those. Is a while since they got married. I recall more that when their daughter was born a simple photo posted on Twitter that everyone could see was the grand announcement. Perhaps it was different with the 3 older kids. I can't see them doing those spreads these days though.
