Will the Queen abdicate?
20 Answers
Now that Prince Philip has had the heart scare and has been told to take it easy do you think the Queen might abdicate after the Diamond Jubilee next year?
I can't imagine her carrying on with her duties if he is not by her side.
Also, if she does abdicate and Charles becomes King, will Camilla become Queen or will she be a consort?

If you take that away then they are no different to any other man in the street. Therefore the Queen could not abdicate or she essentially owns up to the fact that none of them ought to have the job in the first place. Likewise you can't just decide to pass old Charlie over because you don't like his choice of wife. They either rule by divine right or we become a republic- nothing else makes sense.
P.S.- I hope Charles does suceed his mother and that Camilla becomes his Queen.

He's been a bit of an embarrassment now and then hasn't he? But I do not think she will abdicate. Anyone else would not be the same would they? She has been there for such a long time it is difficult to think of someone taking her place. I don't know why I am entering this argument as I am an anti-royalist and would like to see them go, but I can't see that happening so looking at it from a logical viewpoint, no, she will not abdicate.
